VKC-FBs showed high types I and IV collagen production in comparison to healthy-FBs (rate: 7.78; p<0.05). Increasing NGF concentrations significantly decreased type I collagen expression (A), with a maximum at 10 ng/ml NGF (1.33 fold decrease; p<0.05). No effect was observed on type IV collagen expression (B). Representative data from three independent experiments are shown as mean OD±SEM.
