Figure 8. Occludin downregulatin in low glucose is prevented by ribozyme expression
Western analysis demonstrates that the VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and IGF-IR ribozymes prevent occludin downregulation in high glucose. The blue bars represent occludin levels in HRECs grown in low glucose (set to 100%) and the green bars represent HRECs grown in high glucose. "Combo" represents occludin levels isolated from HRECs transfected with both the VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 ribozymes. Occludin levels were determined relative to β-actin.
