Negative ion electrospray mass spectrometry spectra of chloroform extracts from vitreous from age-matched dogs without asteroid bodies (A) and with asteroid bodies (B). The data presented illustrates the distribution of the ions with the most abundant ion assigned a relative intensity value of 100. Note the presence of the mass to charge ratio (m/z) 690.6 peak in the asteroid bodies-containing spectrum.
