Confocal micrographs of paraffin-embedded mouse retina sections assayed for immunoreactivity to activated caspase-3 following vehicle or TUDCA injections and exposure to dim or bright light. There was significantly more immunoreactivity (yellow signal) in bright-light exposed vehicle-treated sections than in TUDCA-treated sections (3.2±1.5 versus 0.25±0.16 mean pixel luminosity per section; p=0.0180, t=2.15, df=12).
