Table 5. Relationship between the p53 gene mutation and BPDE-like DNA adduct levels
Fisher's exact test was used for statistical analysis. The results were evaluated independently by three observers and scored for the percentage of positive nuclei: A score of - or low meant from 0% to 10%; a score of + or high demonstrated more than 11% positive cells. Mutations analyzed in this study were based on mutations found in prior pterygium samples (Tsai et al. [16]).
