Expression ratios of genes known to be exclusively expressed either in the outer nuclear layer (NRL, SAG, RHO) or the ganglion cell layer (GCL; NFLH, POU4F1) as determined by gene array analysis following laser capture microdissection (LCM). Substantial enrichment of these gene products in the respective fractions indicated successful LCM purification. Relative expression is defined as the ratio between the expression levels detected in the GCL and the OR.
