Figure 3. Expression studies of VEGF165 and PEDF in HUVE cells

Effect of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) on vascular endotheliel growth factor (VEGF165, panel A) and pigmented epithelium derived factor (PEDF, panel B) mRNA expression in HUVE cells. TA (0.1 and 1.0 mg/ml) was added to the culture medium. The real-time RT-PCR measurements (mean±SD) indicated a 0.5 fold decrease in the levels of VEGF165 and a 2.2 fold increase in the levels of PEDF by TA in HUVE cells. The two different concentrations of TA (0.1 and 1.0 mg/ml) had similar effects. *p<0.005, control drug-free growth versus TA-treated cultures by ANOVA.
