Neprilysin-like peptidase activity was elevated and, in contrast, Aβ was reduced in the vitreous of proliferative DR patients (versus Control). There was a significant inverse correlation (y=-0.0089x + 0.7472, p=0.0072, R2=0.4134) between neprilysin-like peptidase activity and Aβ among all subjects.
