This figure demonstrates that levels of TGF-β, a possible agent in shutting down cell division, remain low for approximately two days following wounding in both rabbit and human CECs. This suggests that cell division in the endothelium, following wounding, is allowed to continue unchecked for at least two days. Plotted points represent either one assay or the mean of three assays. Where three assays are represented, the error bars show the standard deviations. The triangles represent rabbit data at 37 °C. The squares represent human data at 37 °C. The diamonds represent human data at 4 °C.
