The median immunoblotted density ratio of the β-component to the three components (α+β+γ) of type II collagen was 0.132 in experimental eyes and 0.065 in control eyes; the β-component was significantly higher in the experimental eyes (Z=-4.33, p<0.01). Similarly, the median immunoblotted density ratio of the γ-component to the three components of type II collagen was 0.049 in experimental eyes and 0 in control eyes; the γ-component was significantly higher in the experimental eyes (Z=-4.63, p<0.01).
