Representative time series showing the dynamic movement of TMRE (up to 18.5 μm/min, shown in the box) in the superficial cortical fiber cells. The movement of the mitochondrion highlighted in the box appears to be bidirectional. Other faster movements are highlighted with arrows. This animation was reconstructed from 60 images of the superficial cortical fiber cells that were taken from the same z-plane for 12 min.
