Figure 2. Gradients of HIOMT and opsin mRNAs in the embryonic chicken retina
Center to periphery gradients of HIOMT, red opsin, and green opsin mRNAs in the embryonic chicken retina are presented. At the indicated developmental stages, the area centralis and the nasal periphery of 10 to 16 neural retinas were dissected separately. Total RNA (15 μg) was analyzed by northern blot and probed with the indicated 32P-labeled cDNAs. 28S rRNA was visualized by BrEt-induced fluorescence.
