Outer nuclear layer thickness was measured in a 1 μm section through the retina of control mice exposed to constant light. Open squares represent the average of retinas from 22 C57BL/6J-c2J mice; open circles represent the average of retinas from 19 NZW/LacJ mice; and filled circles represent the average of retinas from 39 F1 mice. The areas marked 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the superior retina were averaged in all test and control mice for the quantitative trait. Numbers on the Y-axis represent μm of ONL thickness; numbers on the X-axis represent mm from the optic nerve head.
