The eyes were dissected to leave the vitreous and posterior fetal vasculature intact and the retina and vitreous were stained for ADPase activity. At P3, the vasa hyaloidia propria in transgenic mice was smaller than normal; at older postnatal ages, it persisted and continued to expand. A: Non-transgenic P3 retina. B: P3 LIF transgenic retina.
