Figure 3. Effects of DNRK expression on MLC phosphorylation in human TM cells

Human trabecular meshwork (TM) cells expressing the DNRK-GFP exhibited a marked reduction in MLC phosphorylation compared to GFP expressing control cells or untreated control cells (A). Based on mean densitometric values of three independent experiments, MLC phosphorylation in DNRK expressing TM cells was significantly reduced by 65% (p<0.0003) and 45% (p<0.05) compared to GFP expressing control cells or untreated control cells, respectively (B). Actin (housekeeping protein) was probed by western blotting to confirm equality of protein loading between all samples analyzed (A, lower panel).
