Figure 1. Detection of NPRs and ANP gene expression in the rat retina

Messenger RNA was extracted from the rat retina, reverse transcribed, and amplified by quantitative real time-PCR. Gene specific primers in retinal tissue were used for NPRA (lane 2), NPRB (lane 3), NPRC (lane 4), and ANP (lane 5). Single bands of the predicted molecular size for NPRA (98 bp), NPRB (149 bp), NPRC (71 bp), and ANP (94 bp) transcripts were detected. The gel also shows a DNA molecular marker (lane 1) and a nontemplate control (lane 6).
