Figure 1. Bioactivity of RLF granules

Isolated RLF granules were fed to differentiated ARPE-19 cells which were then allowed to recover for 7 days. Cells that were not fed RLF were used as controls. Cells were then subjected to blue light irradiation (black or red), or left in the dark (blue or white), for 24-48 h as described in the text. Cell viability was determined using the MTT assay. Values represent means of 8-12 independent measurements, error bars representing standard deviation. The light dependent cell death of arpe-19 cells fed RLF granules indicates that our RLF is biologically active.
