Figure 3. Rhodopsin kinase (Rk) enhancer/promoter driven expression in transgenic pineals

Isolated pineals were examined for the presence of Rk transcript and protein using RT-PCR and immunostaining. A: Amplified products of Rk-GFP transgenic mouse pineal RNA (2 μg) with Rk (lanes 1 and 2) or GFP (lanes 3 and 4) primers in the presence (lanes 1 and 3) or absence (lanes 2 and 4) of reverse transcriptase were imaged after electrophoretic fractionation on agarose gel. Arrowheads mark the position of expected Rk and GFP bands. B-D: Merged (m) fluorescence micrographs of transgenic pineals were stained in with polyclonal anti-GFP and monoclonal anti-Rk (B), monoclonal anti-Rk alone (C), or with no primary antibody (D).
