Primary lens epithelial cell cultures were co-transfected with pGRE.Luc and pRL-SV40 and treated with 1 μM dexamethasone or vehicle (Veh) for 24 h before luciferase activity was measured. Data are from four different primary cultures created from capsulorhexis specimens treated in duplicate or triplicate. The error bars represent the standard error of the mean (n=11). Values were significantly different from Veh (two tail, two sample t-test assuming unequal variances; p<0.0002).
