Table 5. APOE genotype-specific effects of smoking history on risk of neovascular AMD (grade 5)
Odds ratios (OR) and p values were derived from a logistic regression model in which the variables were coded as described in the Methods section of the text. They were adjusted for age and sex. APOE genotypes 2/2, 2/3, and 2/4 were combined into the 2/* category. APOE genotypes 4/2, 4/3, 4/4 genotypes were combined into the 4/* category. Thus, APOE-2/4 genotypes were included in both of these categories (5 cases, 4 controls).
