Figure 1. Histological comparison of the fresh and 7 day cultured rat lens
Rat lenses were cultured for 7 days in modified TC-199 medium. Lenses were fixed in glutaraldehyde followed by formalin. Fixed lenses were embedded in methacrylate and sections (6 μm) were stained with PAS. Sections of the equatorial region in fresh (left) and cultured (right) lenses are shown.
