Figure 1. Semiquantitative gene expression levels in normal and vascularized cornea groups

The linear amplified curve of the PCR product of each sample was examined at four cycle intervals. PCR products were prepared under appropriate cycling conditions, and the band densities were compared. The gene expression levels of calretculin, HSP90β, pleiotrophin, and apoE are significantly higher in vascularized corneas (VC) than in normal corneas (NC). In contrast, IRF-1 gene expression is significantly lower in vascularized corneas than in normal cornea. Two sets of results on separate experiments were analyzed with similar results. Representative data are shown.
