A: Time-dependent effect of hypoxia on KDR and NP-1 receptor. Separate controls lacking reverse transcriptase (RT-minus) and template (RNA-minus) controls were run on each gel (not shown). The expression of 18S rRNA did not change under these conditions. These experiments were run in duplicate and produced similar results each time. B: Graph represents fold increases in KDR and NP-1 receptor expression relative to normoxic control (dotted line) as measured by real-time PCR. Values represent the mean of two independent experiments (each experiment run in triplicate; error bars represent the SEM). An asterisk ("*") indicates a significant difference relative to controls. For KDR, p<0.001 at 1 h and p<0.05 at 2 h of hypoxia. For NP-1, p<0.02 at 2 h and p<0.05 at 4 h of hypoxia.
